SAFEPLACE

SAFEPLACE is a European project that develops a robust, resilient emergency response system through the use of satellites, drones, sensors, apps, etc. that are brought together and integrated. All collected data is processed in real time into useful information for the command centers in the context of disasters.

The coordination of the project is in the hands of RHEA Group: a company that offers customized engineering services and technologies to support critical infrastructures in space and on earth.

The aim of SAFEPLACE is to provide support through monitoring from space, so that support can be provided to those on the ground during security and crisis events.

The kick-off of SAFEPLACE is in the spring of 2024, but the role of Campus Vesta will mainly take place in the first half of 2026. In essence, Campus Vesta will then test the integrated data platform to be developed.
A field test will then be organized and a demo with the policymakers.
Campus Vesta will work closely with VITO, the Flemish Institute for Technological Research.
